Judge Denise de Bellefeuille

Judge de Bellefeuille (pronounced de-Bell-fay) attended U.C.L.A. as an undergraduate and graduated with a J.D. degree from the University of La Verne College of Law in 1981. After serving for several years as a Deputy District Attorney for Santa Barbara County, she was appointed to the Santa Barbara Municipal Court in February 1994 by Governor Pete Wilson. She became a Superior Court judge by operation of law with the Court consolidation in August 1998.

Judge de Bellefeuille started the first domestic violence review calendar in Santa Barbara, and also chairs the court’s truancy and curfew calendar. She is a founding board member of C.A.S.A. (court Appointed Special Advocates for Children), and volunteers as a teen Court Judge. She annually organizes a mentor/student trip to the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles.
